On July 8-10, 2026, the IAJU Taskforce on Holistic Wellbeing sponsored workshop on school-based mental health among 19 faculty and staff from 7 higher education institutions. The Ateneo Bulatao Center for Psychological Services facilitated the 3-day workshop that featured topics such as mental health literacy, screening, mental health first aid, and facilitating a resilience intervention.

Indeed, our time has called an age of epochal change. Societies are becoming even more secularized, with many seeking to push any mention of God out of the public sphere and beyond popular culture.

On June 8th and 9th, 2026, the Jesuit University of Abidjan (UJA), through the Center for Research and Action for Peace (CERAP), organized an international symposium in its amphitheater around the theme: "Elections, stability and peace: A comparative look at the state and role of the democratic process in Africa."

Two faculty members from Xavier Institute of Engineering (XIE) are spending 45 days at Kosyam Jesuit University in Burkina Faso. Throughout this trip, the professors will teach a course on Cybersecurity, with an ultimate goal of strengthening global academic collaboration.

On June 4th, IQS inaugurated INNOHUB IQS, a strategic project that puts the institution and the city of Barcelona on the map of European excellence in Industry 5.0. The event, held in the center's auditorium before nearly 300 attendees, brought together the Honorable Albert Dalmau Miranda, Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat of Catalonia; Dr. Vicenç Pedret, President of the IQS Board of Trustees; Dr. Salvador Borrós, Director General of IQS; Kathy Looman, Executive Director of the Gene Haas Foundation; Dr. Carles Pérez Testor, Rector of Ramon Llull University; and Fr. Pau Vidal, SJ, delegate of the Jesuits of Catalonia, who blessed the facilities.

Since its launch in 2017, the GEL programme has reached 32,000 learners across 100 centers in more than 30 countries. Cambridge University has supported the program through teacher training initiatives and the creation of learning materials and exams, with over 30,000 Cambridge English tests taken to date.

In the past eight years, the MAGIS Exchange program has impacted the lives of people all around the globe. They have operated in six regions worldwide, with a total global network of 42 Jesuit universities. Through this collaboration, the program has trained 207 students on important topics such as the Replicable Global Environmental Citizenship Course (GECC).

On May 27, 2026, the extension course "Environment, Corruption" got underway, an academic initiative that's part of a broader international research project looking at the impacts of socio-environmental corruption across Latin America and the Caribbean. The course is led by AUSJAL together with social centers tied to the Society of Jesus, with the goal of encouraging critical reflection, knowledge-sharing, and stronger community capacity to confront this issue.

On May 4, 2026, Jesuit universities in Latin America and the United States celebrated the development of a web platform that optimizes the process of connecting classrooms globally. This project eliminates a long-standing barrier to connection and allows efficient transcontinental collaboration.
