Overview

The Research and Science Communication Program for the promotion of democracy is an international program, with key chapters in Latin America, South Asia, the United States, Europe and Africa.

The mission of this program is to research political issues, challenges, and possible solutions globally. While the chapters work separately on the problems in their regions, they still collaborate to share findings and successful research methods.

Regional Updates

Latin America

The Latin American Chapter recently finished the second stage of its research project, characterizing political regimes in the region by surveying 432 social leaders in 10 countries. They are currently preparing their results to be presented and published.

Eastern Asia

The Eastern Asian Chapter has, with the collaboration of the Latin American Chapter, begun to adapt the survey used in the Latin American research into a multi-city representative survey in the Philippines. They hope to use this adapted survey to characterize political regimes on a larger scale throughout Eastern Asia.

Other Chapters

The South Asian, North American, European and African Chapters are currently promoting and publishing research, while they organize lectures, public presentations and interactive sessions to share studies on Democracy and Jesuit Higher Education formation/advocacy experiences.
