In connection to the Curriculum Innovation in Action program, the IAJU launched a new faculty training program, BIPP. This initiative was designed to help faculty embody the Inspirational Paradigm (IP) in their teaching and leadership.
The new program directly responds to the focus on material success in traditional business education by embracing the spiritual and emotional dimensions of teaching. Faculty will learn how to be ethical, compassionate, and purpose-driven educators. They will also learn how to best pass on these values to business students they guide.
The Learning Process
In order to help the faculty of Jesuit institutions guide their business students with Ignatian values, the IAJU has set up a blended learning experience. Educators attend a one-day in-person workshop at the IAJBS Global Forum, and eight online sessions in between.
At the IAJBS Global Forum in 2025, 14 educators from across the globe focused on two foundational models designed to deepen engagement with the IP. These two models were Awakening the Call to Inspire and Understanding the Inspirational Paradigm. Both models asked the participants to reflect on themselves and business education as a whole, and see how Ignatian principles can be applied to their programs.
Looking Ahead
After the success in 2025, this workshop will also occur at the 2026 IAJBS World Forum, located in Los Angeles, California, USA.
The in-person session in Los Angeles will serve as a "kick-off" for the program. At the forum, BIPP participants will have the opportunity to talk with other Jesuit business school faculty about their trials and successes in integrating the Inspirational Paradigm into their curriculum. They will also have workshops that ask them to introspect about their own educational values in relation to Ignatian spirituality.
Between the 2026 and 2027 forums, BIPP participants will take part in eight 90-minute online sessions designed to deepen their understanding of the IP and help them learn how to implement it in thier personal curriculum.
After all of that work, the educators will meet again in Madrid during the 2027 IAJBS World Forum to partake in the closing gatherings of the program.
