Magis Exchange is an innovative exchange program of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU), designed to help young people discern their role as agents of global change by encouraging leadership and reflection on current social and environmental issues. The program has gained significant traction since its launch in 2019, with more than 80 students having undergone this transformative experience.

Magis Exchange is a program that comes from the union and solidarity of Jesuit universities around the world as a life-transforming proposal that aims to create global citizens who lead positive changes for the humanity and the planet.

After 3 years of online-only activities, IAJES celebrated its first in-person meeting at Boston College in July 2022.

Father Arturo Sosa offered on August 4th at the IAJU Assembly a speech that emphasised the context of today's world, offering a meaningful Ignatian perspective for all members of the university communities, oriented towards the exercise of the Common Good.

What is the role of theology in today’s Jesuit university? The newly-formed IAJU Task Force on Theology in the Jesuit University explored this question in a new thought paper presented at the 2022 IAJU Assembly.

The 2022 IAJU Assembly pre-conference workshop, “In the Face of Crisis: Democracy and Fragility Around the World,” took place on Wednesday, August 3. The two-part workshop introduced the Democracy Observatory Project and reviewed the state of democracy in each of the six regions comprising IAJU.

El taller previo a la Asamblea de la IAJU de 2022, "Frente a la crisis: Democracia y fragilidad en el mundo", tuvo lugar el miércoles 3 de agosto. El taller, dividido en dos partes, presentó el proyecto del Observatorio de la Democracia de AUSJAL y analizó el estado de la democracia en cada una de las seis regiones que componen la IAJU.

Durante el año académico 2021-22, 31 estudiantes de 19 universidades de 16 países exploraron esta pregunta a través del Programa de Becas de Ciudadanía Global de la IAJU.

The MAGIS Exchange is so much more than a student exchange program. It helps students discern their role as global agents of change, especially with regard to the pressing social and environmental issues of our time.
