New programs

The International Association of Jesuit Engineering Schools (IAJES) is a worldwide network aimed at promoting a new generation of engineers, scientist and researchers who seek a more humane and just world using technology and innovation under the guiding principles of the Society of Jesus.

In the previous article, “A View on Jesuit University Networks”, we took a look at the context in which Jesuit university networks have developed in recent decades. We also asked about the usefulness of such networks and the circumstances in which their creation is desirable, and presented some answers.

During the meeting held last year at Boston College and following the calls made by the General of the Society of Jesus, Fr. Arturo Sosa, SJ, the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU), commissioned the creation of an International Working Group for the promotion of democracy, which is headed by Dr. Luis Arriaga, SJ.

The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies (TBC) has formally opened its first satellite site inside Mainland China. The Kunming Liya Center, or 昆明理雅学苑, is located in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan, one of China’s southern provinces, bordering Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Kunming is often referred to as the City of Eternal Spring for its fair climate and lush biodiversity.

El Grupo de Trabajo de la IAJU sobre Educación Empresarial Jesuita es uno de los dos nuevos Grupos de Trabajo que han surgido desde la Asamblea de la IAJU de 2018, en la Universidad de Deusto. El viernes 5 de agosto, el P. Nicky Santos, S.J. de la Universidad de Creighton (EE.UU.), presentó los antecedentes, el trabajo y las direcciones futuras del Grupo de Trabajo a la Asamblea de la IAJU de 2022.

On Wednesday, August 3, the 2022 IAJU Assembly officially commenced with an opening Mass celebrated by Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley, OFM Cap., Archbishop of Boston, at St. Ignatius Church.
