The Jesuit University of Paraguay (UJP) is Born

The Board of Directors of AUSJAL unanimously approved the incorporation of the Jesuit University of Paraguay (UJP) to the association, the Institute of Humanistic and Philosophical Studies (ISEHF), joined the UJP. As a new member of AUSJAL, Jesuit University of Paraguay becomes a member of IAJU.

With this decision, the Jesuit University of Paraguay assumes the common commitment of our institutions to contribute to their societies. Likewise, this event marks a significant advance in the strengthening of the Ignatian educational continuum in that country.

“We are prepared to support, both as an Association and individually from each of our universities, our Jesuit brothers in Paraguay,” said the president of AUSJAL, Fr. Fernando Ponce S.J., during the General Assembly where this decision was voted.

For his part, the rector of the UJP, Fr. Mariano García S.J., underlined the commitment to get involved in every possible way. “We welcome this decision with enthusiasm,” he said.

Inspired by Jesuit values, this new house of studies offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in the areas of humanities, philosophy, administration and commerce.
