The 2025 International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) Assembly, held in Bogotá, Colombia, brought together leaders from across the world to discern the next chapter of Jesuit higher education.

In alignment with the Society of Jesus’ Universal Apostolic Preference to walk with the excluded, the 2025 International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) Assembly plenary session “Migration, Refugees and Those on the Frontier” brought together global leaders in Jesuit higher education to share practices and articulate a shared path forward.

At the 2025 International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) Assembly plenary session “Artificial Intelligence: Benefits and Challenges,” leaders from Jesuit universities around the world came together to reflect on the profound changes AI is bringing to education.

In an increasingly secular world, Jesuit and Catholic universities are uniquely positioned to respond to the challenge of maintaining mission integrity while engaging diverse, pluralistic societies.

At the plenary session“Students’ Well-Being: Helping the Youth for a Hope-Filled Future: An Ignatian Guide to Spiritual and Mental Health,” leaders and educators from Jesuit universities gathered to address the urgent mental health challenges facing today’s students.

In response to the powerful address delivered by Fr. Arturo Sosa, S.J., Superior General of the Society of Jesus, titled“The Jesuit University: Witness to Hope, Creative and Dialogical Presence,” the opening plenary of the 2025 International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) Assembly gathered institutional leaders to reflect and discern concrete paths forward. Held at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, the session centered on how Jesuit higher education can respond to today’s complex social, political, and spiritual challenges with renewed commitment, collaboration, and creativity.
