Magis Exchange Expands its Teaching Network with New Professors for the Global Environmental Citizenship Course

Author: Magis Exchange Coordinating Office

The Magis Exchange program continues to grow and evolve, strengthening its global network of educators and institutions. This month, five new professors have joined the teaching team of the Global Environmental Citizenship Course (GECC)—the academic and formative centerpiece of the Magis Exchange experience.

Last week, the new cohort of professors took part in their first training session, where they were welcomed by members of the current teaching team and the Magis coordination office. As part of their onboarding, they will shadow the course during upcoming semesters before taking on full teaching responsibilities.

The new professors are:

  1. Myra Villareal – Sophia University (Japan)

  2. Jesús Villalobos – ICAM (France)

  3. Joel MacClellan – Loyola University New Orleans (USA)

  4. Nicolás Dorronsoro – Universidad Católica del Uruguay (Uruguay)

  5. Goutami – XIM University (India)

This development is a sign of the program’s vitality and its ongoing commitment to forming a truly global community of Jesuit educators working together to engage students in critical conversations on ecology, citizenship, and justice.

Magis Exchange is more than a mobility program—it is a living network. We thank all the liaisons and institutions who supported this new recruitment cycle and look forward to the continued contributions of this new teaching cohort.
