Mission
JWL provides equitable high-quality tertiary learning to people and communities at the margins of societies – be it through poverty, location, lack of opportunity, conflict or forced displacement – so all can contribute their knowledge and voices to a global community of learners and together foster hope to create a more peaceful and humane world.
Overview
Jesuit Worldwide Learning is a global work of the Central European Jesuit Province. In partnership with Jesuit Provinces, Jesuit and mission-aligned educational institutions and organisations, we break barriers to provide youth at the margins with quality higher education programmes.
The four Universal Apostolic preferences provide a point of reference for our work, inspiring and guiding our current and future activities. We journey with marginalised youth, facilitating access to and accompanying them on their higher education journey. Throughout this educational journey, we promote a global conscience about the value of creation, of care for our common home – and in so doing also contribute to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
JWL offers – and will continuously develop – a stackable learning path which includes a Global English Language Programme (as a stepping stone), professional and academic programmes through to a degree in Sustainable Development. All programmes have been developed within the framework of Ignatian experience and delivered in a blended mobile learning format. Using innovative technology, we reach learners in some of the most challenging contexts and provide them with the necessary online and onsite support to succeed in their transformative higher education studies.
