In 2021, IAJU launched the Four Dreams Film Contest in collaboration with the Jesuit Curia in Rome to celebrate the Ignatian Year. Students at Jesuit higher education institutions around the world were called to submit videos embodying the four Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs):

  1. Showing the Way to God
  2. Walking with the Excluded
  3. Journeying with Youth
  4. Care for Our Common Home

The videos showcase our students’ heroes: individuals or groups our students see as making a difference according to the four UAPs.

More than sixty films were submitted from twenty-four countries: an example of what successful interapostolic and inter-university collaboration can look like. Rev. John Dardis, S.J., General Counsellor for Discernment and Apostolic Planning and Director of Communications for the General Curia of the Society of Jesus in Rome, remarked: “Jesuits run schools and universities fundamentally because we believe in young people. This is a huge and wonderful mission for higher education and especially for discerning Jesuit universities today. This little project hopefully made a small contribution to that.”
